Puglia, famous for trulli homes with cone brick roofs, beautiful lush farmlands, ornate churches, ancient ruins.

But it is home to the foods Italy is famous for.

Its deeply-rooted cucina povera tradition means its cuisine tends to be simple and delicious, relying on fresh, local produce.

Puglia historically produced much of Italy’s pasta, and today it still produces over half of it's olive oil. Its rich fruity red wines, particularly those from its Salento region are also extremely popular.

In Puglia, lunch is something to be enjoyed, and lasts from 1pm and 4:30pm. Most businesses and shops are actually closed during this period.  So remember that food and flavor are a huge part of thier culture and it reflects in the food you eat at Trattoria Sapori di Puglia.
